1972 Chevrolet Camaro

Only 970 SS396s were built total in 1972. This one is verified with Z27 LS3 on the trim tag and a U in the vin. Vin # matching 396 and 4-speed. This one also has desirable RS splint bumper option and rare combination of a/c and a 4-speed! It was frame off restored. Lived in Oklahoma then Texas. EXTERIOR: Very clean body. The gaps are square and flush, straight as a rifle barrel. No rust or damage. It is a Rally Sport which includes split bumpers, extended nose and different marker lights. It also has spoilers and sport mirrors. Repainted a high gloss red. It is polished smooth. Jambs are slick, weatherstrips were replaced. Only a few small nicks. Clear windshield.

Chrome and trim looks great. Great stance. Polished aluminum Weld wheels with BFG tires, fatter in back. INTERIOR: Very nice deluxe interior. The seats have been recushioned and upholstered. Carpet looks new, has reproduction mats. Upper and lower door panels are excellent. Dash pad has a mild curl. The instrument bezel is wood grain with full set of factory gauges including tachometer. Original wheel on a tilt column. It has a stereo in the factory location. Nice factory console with a Hurst shifter. The plastic trim is very good, has complete set of seatbelts. Excellent headliner, dome light works. ENGINE COMPARTMENT: #s matching big block 402.

Stock components- manifolds, air cleaner, valve covers, distributor, brackets etc. Factory air conditioning updated to R134 freon. It also features power steering and power brakes. It looks very tidy, proper and complete. TRUNK COMPARTMENT: Clean metal trunk. I did not find splices in the quarters. Weatherstrip and mat were replaced. Trunk light works. UNDERSIDE: It has been body off the frame restored. You can see the body bushings were replaced. The front end also looks like its been completely rebuilt. All the bushings, ball joints, steering components look like they have been replaced. The correct dual exhaust system has been installed with a transverse muffler. The brakes have been rebuilt, the calipers still have tags on them. The e-brake assembly is all hooked up. The fuel system was replaced including the tank, lines and sending unit.
